The National Whisky Festival Returns to Aberdeen

The National Whisky Festival Returns to Aberdeen

The National Whisky Festival is gearing up to make its triumphant return to Aberdeen on the 10th of September 2022, marking its third visit to the city, with additional dates in the pipeline. This eagerly anticipated event will once again grace the historic Aberdeen Music Hall, forming an integral part of a fresh array of plans and innovations for this year's festival.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of the revelation that the Whisky Festival will commence its 2022 journey in Glasgow on the 7th of May. Organisers of the event have affectionately dubbed Glasgow as "the festival's spiritual home," making it a fitting starting point before the festival heads north to Aberdeen.

In 2021, Aberdeen saw a sold-out event that drew over 800 attendees in September. With hopes of replicating this success, festival organisers have scheduled two sessions: one running from 12 pm to 3:30 pm, and the other from 4:15 pm to 7:45 pm.

A Celebration of the Nation's Spirit

Established in 2015, the festival encapsulates the essence of what whisky signifies for Scotland, with this cherished spirit at the heart of the nation's cultural identity. The National Whisky Festival has evolved from a single tasting event into a series of popular festivals across the country, as proudly stated on their website.

Their mission is clear: to provide a dynamic cultural experience centred around whisky, discovery, and diversity. Whether you're a seasoned expert or a curious newcomer, all are welcome to partake in celebrating the rich traditions of whisky while uncovering the exciting new styles that lie on the horizon.

What Awaits Aberdeen

Each festival session in Aberdeen promises a diverse selection of whiskies and guest spirits from some of the industry's most renowned names. Festival exhibitors will be on hand to educate guests about the featured whiskies, enabling whisky enthusiasts to fully immerse themselves in the experience.

Beyond whisky tastings, festival-goers can explore pop-up food, drink, and craft stalls. An on-site whisky shop will offer exclusive festival bottling, complemented by live music and in-depth whisky masterclasses. The complete lineup for these masterclasses will be unveiled closer to the event date.

Tickets for the National Whisky Festival of Scotland will be available for purchase starting at 10 am on Friday, 25th February, priced at £37.50. Each ticket includes entry to one masterclass session, a branded Glencairn National Whisky Festival glass, and access to a wide range of additional activities!
