UKV International Celebrate a Stocked Whisky Warehouse with Event in Edinburgh for Clients
Since we opened our warehouse doors in April this year we have been working away to move our client's whisky casks to the state-of-the-art facility.
Now, seven months on, we hosted a client event at our bonded warehouse in Edinburgh to show off our new facility and speak to our clients about their investments.
Packed to the Rafters
The Royal Elizabeth bond whisky storage facility near Edinburgh has been filled with client investments. It is packed to the rafters and you can see it is perfectly designed to house whisky casks standing five casks tall.
There are now hundreds of casks stored in the temperature-controlled environment to allow client whisky to mature at the ideal temperature, which limits the Angel’s Share.
The First Client Event at Our Warehouse
We invited around 50 clients to the Royal Elizabeth to visit their whiskies and speak to our experts about the maturation process. For UKV, whisky is a tangible asset, so it is important to show clients their whisky in the facility.
Also, whisky is a social drink. Enjoying a whisky is to be enjoyed with others, and it becomes special when enjoyed with others who share the same passion for whisky.
One of our UKV clients said of the warehouse: “Being at the warehouse is terrific, there is a nice buzz about the place. Just seeing how the barrels are stored, and how it is managed is quite reassuring. It makes it a bit more real in terms of the investment.”
Expanding Storage
The event was not only a chance to meet our clients and showcase the facilities, but it was also the perfect opportunity to reveal that we are expanding the facility to 16 more sites. Each site will have the capacity to hold 28,000 casks.
It shows the growing demand for the market and the growing demand for state-of-the-art warehouse facilities with UKV International.
Live Tasting Experience
Our clients experienced management practices the public rarely sees. From explanations about the types of wood for whisky casks and the processes, casks go through before accepting the spirit.
Guests also joined in with a tasting directly from a cask. Our experts used a copper whisky barrel thief to sample from a cask and present it to attendees.
The whole experience was fun and informative for our clients, as one noted: “I’ve learnt a lot of new things coming here about barrels, how they are stored, how they are looked after, all the bits that make up the barrel as well. The different types of wood and charring. It has been very interesting today.”
Finally, the event ended with drinks and dining at The Granary in Edinburgh.
